Disability Services

The Museum School is committed to supporting the needs and rights of students with disabilities. We will make every effort to provide reasonable accommodations and support for qualified students with disabilities to ensure they reach their potential.

The associate dean of Academic Affairs handles requests for special accommodations on an individual basis. Click here for more information. Requests for accommodations for Tufts courses may also be made. In some cases, the requests may be referred to the Academic Resource Center  at Tufts.

Students with disabilities may be asked to provide recent clinical documentation before receiving services. Clinical evaluations must be done by a licensed psychologist, education specialist, or physician, and must contain specific academic recommendations. It is the responsibility of the student to arrange and pay for all diagnostic testing.

A software program that scans text into a dedicated computer terminal and creates a voice version of that text, Kurweil 3000, is available to students with reading disabilities. For more information, contact Academic Affairs.

If you’re planning to attend the School, we recommend you work with the Massachusetts Department of Rehabilitation  or a similar agency in your home state. For more information, contact Academic Affairs.
