Teaching at the Museum School is imaginative, challenging, and
interactive. You might study with a sculptor whose work draws on personal
experiences of war; a filmmaker who is completing a trilogy on suburbia; or a
conceptual artist who collaborates via a virtual room on the web.
SMFA
faculty members exhibit in the U.S. and Europe and have their work in
collections including the Museum of
Modern Art and the Smithsonian’s
Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. They've taught around the world,
from San Francisco to Istanbul, and they've won
prestigious awards and fellowships, such as Guggenheim Fellowships and Ford
Foundation grants.
But
above all, they serve as thoughtful mentors to their students.
