Congratulations to the recipients of this year's Yousuf Karsh Prize in Photography, who are all BFA candidates: Shane Butler and Merideth Hillbrand for their collaboration (first prize); Shane Lavalette (second prize), and Paige Mazurek (third prize). Their award-winning photographs will be exhibited in the "Student Annual Exhibition," which opens in the Anderson Auditorium and Grossman Gallery on February 17, 2009.
The Karsh Prize is awarded annually to three talented students of photography. The 2009 prizes were juried by: Anne Havinga, Estrellita and Yousuf Karsh Curator of Photographs, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Leslie Brown, curator, Photographic Resource Center; and Emily Isenberg, director, LaMontagne Gallery.
